Georgie Houston is an assistant underwriter at LifeScienceRisk International, based in London. She joined the team at the beginning of 2025 with four years of experience in various lines of insurance business within the Lloyds and London market. Georgie supports the international team in providing primary and excess liability insurance solutions.

Georgie graduated from King’s College London with a master’s in biochemistry in 2020 and has recently completed her Chartered Insurance Institute Diploma in Insurance.

Tom Daniels

Managing Director

London-based underwriter Tom Daniels is Managing Director at LifeScienceRisk International and joined LifeScienceRisk in September 2023. Tom leads the team which provides primary and excess liability insurance solutions for non-US domiciled participants in the sector, from start-ups to major global innovators.

Tom Daniels has eighteen years of international insurance experience, the last nine of which he spent growing and managing a portfolio of life science risks at HDI Global in London. In that time, he established himself as one of the leading underwriters in the sector, providing insurance solutions for manufacturers and distributors of pharmaceuticals and medical devices along with consumer healthcare companies and their clinical trial activities.

Tom also has five years of experience broking with Marsh and two further years managing international programs with ACE Insurance Company.

Michael Baffa

Underwriting Coordinator

Michael Baffa joined LifeScienceRisk in May of 2024. As an underwriting coordinator, Michael's focus is on the dietary supplement and natural topical space, some of LifeScienceRisk’s core competencies. Michael was licensed as a property and casualty producer within a month of joining the team and his expertise has continued to grow.

Michael graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Dayton in May of 2024, majoring in finance and economics, and started his career with LifeScienceRisk later that month. Before joining the team, he held an internship at Ryan Specialty in the summer prior to his senior year.

Michael has obtained his ARM designation and is currently enrolled in courses through the Insurance Institutes working his way up to a CPCU designation.

Charlie Mann

Underwriter

Charlie Mann joined LifeScienceRisk in June 2020. As Underwriter, Charlie focuses on the nutritional and dietary supplement business. He supports the LifeScienceRisk team and develops relationships with producers, expanding his range of industry skills and knowledge.

Charlie began his career with Ryan Specialty in May 2019 as Underwriting Technical Assistant, supporting a collection of business groups which included the LifeScienceRisk team.

A 2019 graduate of Indiana University with a BA in economics and political science, Charlie has obtained his IL insurance license and is currently working on his CPCU designation.

Vivian Limosnero

Senior Underwriter

Vivian joined LifeScienceRisk in July 2012 and is responsible for management of key producer relationships and underwriting a profitable book of life science product liability business for the facility.

Throughout her 24 years in the business, Vivian has enjoyed a diverse career spanning various underwriting positions in specialty professional liability and medical product liability. Prior to joining LifeScienceRisk, Vivian spent 10 years with CNA Insurance Company as an underwriter specializing in meeting the liability insurance needs of life science companies. Vivian has worked with a broad cross section of the life science industry with a specialized focus on firms producing generic pharmaceuticals and drug delivery technologies.

Vivian graduated from DePaul University with a BS in business administration and holds a CLCS certification.

Sara Forum

Vice President

Sara Hua Forum serves as Vice President and Senior Underwriter at LifeScienceRisk. She has over 12 years of underwriting experience focused on the life science and technology industries. Prior to starting at LifeScienceRisk, Sara began her life science career at Ironshore in 2009 as an underwriting technical assistant and worked her way up to senior underwriter and eventually was promoted to product manager for Ironshore’s life science team. In 2019, Sara joined TDC Specialty Underwriters, where she also focused on the life sciences segment as Vice President / Senior Underwriter and worked with brokers nationally to develop and maintain a profitable book of business.

Sara graduated from Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, MA, with a Bachelor of Arts in international relations. She earned her CPCU designation in December 2015 and her AINS designation in December 2011.

Eric Rush

Senior Vice President

Eric Rush serves as Senior Vice President and Senior Underwriter at LifeScienceRisk. He brings over 25 years of experience in the commercial P&C insurance industry. Since May of 2006, Eric’s area of expertise has been focused on the life science and technology industries.

Over the span of Eric’s career, he has worked across a vast array of product lines, including property and casualty, workers’ compensation, product liability, clinical trials and professional liability, as well as international coverages. Prior to joining LifeScienceRisk, Eric developed property and casualty capabilities within the life science vertical at Navigators Management Company, with responsibilities across the entire country. Before joining Navigators Management Company, Eric was an underwriting consultant at OneBeacon Technology Insurance. Eric started his insurance career at FHP / Great States Insurance Company, where he began as Assistant Underwriter before being promoted to Underwriter.

Eric holds a Bachelor of Science in actuarial science from Ball State University, Muncie, IN, where he also minored in foundations of business.

Catherine Gill

Chief Executive Officer

Catherine Gill is CEO of LifeScienceRisk, a part of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers. Catherine joined LifeScienceRisk in October of 2012 to help build the facility and grow the MGU to where it stands today. She started as Senior Underwriter before being promoted to Underwriting Director and then Chief Underwriting Officer, and now she leads the LifeScienceRisk team. Catherine has been recognized as a proven leader in the life science liability arena with a track record of delivering great value to carrier partners, brokers and clients.

Prior to joining LifeScienceRisk, Catherine was with CNA Insurance Company for seven years as a dedicated life science underwriter. During her tenure, she worked her way through the ranks from Underwriting Trainee in 2005 to Underwriting Consultant when she left in 2012.

Catherine has worked with a broad cross section of the industry from start-ups to Fortune 500 firms, including pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, device and nutritional supplement companies. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Arts from New York University.
